Basic Bean Burger Recipe
1 Can Black beans Drain and Rinse
1 Cup Cooked Rice
1/2 Tsp each Onion Powder, Garlic Powder, Salt, Smoky Paprika .
Big pinch Cayenne Pepper
1/2 Tsp Mixed Herbs
1/2 C Ground Flaxseed
Add drained beans into a blender and blend with a little extra water to get a bean paste. You don’t want it too perfectly smooth. Add rest of ingredients and shape into x4 burgers. I cooked in the oven at 175deg for 18 mins and flipped them half way through cooking.
Hummus Burgers
If you have some hummus in your fridge and you want to use it up. Then do the above recipe with hummus instead of the black beans. You need at least 1/2 C Hummus and add extra rice - about 1 1/2 C of cooked rice. Have a test and increase your seasonings to your liking. The ground flax seed is still 1/2 C.
Remember to creat these how you and your family love them. I made a vegan Big Mac kind of mayo and served open with cod lettuce , fabulous home grown beef steak tomato’s and red onions. But as I always say you do you!
